A Sweater for Bilbo Baggins

This is a sweater I recently finished for a customer's son... I like to think of it as something a Hobbit might wear both because of its small size and the lovely fabric created by the thick-and-thin handspun yarn with which it was made.  This is the Sleuthing Hoodie pattern by Tina Good and I am now open for customs for this sweater as a licensed knitter!

Bring on the Fall Weather!

It is a BEAUTIFUL day here in Texas, it has dipped below the 90 degree weather of late Summer, and so I made sure to block my daughter Delilah's Fall longies this weekend!  They are all mediums, some medium longs and a couple with extra-long legs that I will fold up and will hopefully last her longer than one season. She still needs a couple more pairs but I am very busy knitting the sweater for the Facebook contest winner (almost done, pictures to come soon!) and a few custom orders so I wanted to share what I worked on last month...

New look for the blog!

My new logo has arrived (if you haven't noticed the drastic blog change)!  I am excited to order recycled hang tags for the items in my shop with this adorable logo I had designed on Logo Design Guru, a website I highly recommend if you are needing someone to design your logo, website, or business cards.  I am busy working on the sweater for the winner of the Facebook drawing and will have new in-stock items coming soon!

Summer is coming to a close...

So I named this yarn "Last Rays of Sunshine" for my friend Kelly's daughter.  It's Organic Gaia Merino, so squishy-soft!

Linen Stitch Longies

I'm excited to see how some of the yarn I've dyed is knitting up! This is an in-progress shot of a pair of linen stitch longies with an elastic waistband that I'm making from the "Girl Scout Camp" colorway on Gaia Organic Merino yarn. You can see the yarn in its original hank form on the first post on my blog!

Here is some BFL (Blue-Faced Leicester) yarn I dyed up this week as part of the set of Fall longies I'm knitting for my daughter, Delilah.

Knits from the past...

To contribute some much-needed content to the blog I'm going to add some photographs of things I've knit in the distant and recent past...

My first sweater, knit for my son Cashion.  The "Little Old Man Sweater"...

Adorable buttons on my "Chicken Little Sweater" that I knit for my daughter Delilah, I finished it the day we found out we were having a girl...

She got a couple of hats to welcome her here as well...

Some lace detail on D's first Ridinghood Sweater...

Ok that's all for now but I will be updating soon with pictures of current knitting and dyeing projects!

Yatushki Knits Blog is Up!

This is just a temporary layout I slapped together through Blogger - a shiny new custom one should come at a later date but I needed a place to keep everyone updated on what I'm knitting & dyeing, along with updates on my Etsy shop!  Lately I have been dyeing yarn for my daughter Delilah's Fall longies (wool pants for cloth diapers for those who don't know!), along with yarn for my custom dyed Ridinghood sweaters on my Etsy: Click here to check it out!.  Below are pictures of 2 colorways, Fall Morning and Girl Scout Camp.
